My Little Girl
Abbie,
After being with you the past six weeks it's hard to ignore the obvious, we make a pretty good team. You've been so patient with me while I learn the in's and out's of being your momma. You are such a sweet little girl and you've made learning such an easy thing for me.
This week I've celebrated a small victory, I've discovered what some of your cries mean. You don't cry too often so I don't have too many cries to try to translate. Now that I know the difference between your "I'm really hungry" cry and your "I'm tired and need help falling asleep" cry you hardly cry at all.
Over the past several days I've been anxiously waiting for you to flash me one of your beautiful smiles. I've seen you smile in your sleep and your smile literally takes my breath away. Today you smiled for the first time. You didn't exactly smile at me and I think you were leaving me a present in your diaper while you were smiling but I saw your first awake smile today none the less. I'm even more excited about seeing you smile at me for the first time. By the way, I just so happen to change more diapers than your daddy does so if you could smile at me first that would be great. If you do happen to flash him a smile first I understand, he is an incredible daddy and I know how much you love being with him.
Little girl you are starting to stir from your nap and I know you must be hungry. Before I go I just want you to know that you have been such an amazing addition to our little family. You have brought so much joy to me and your daddy. I love you so much and believe it or not I love you more and more each day! You totally just ripped a big one, you fit right in with your momma and daddy baby girl.
I Love You Little Abbie!
